About Francisco
It is my honor to currently serve as Councilmember for District 3. I was appointed to the Mesa City Council to fill the vacant District 3 seat on September 28, 2017.
I am a native Arizona who grew up in the agricultural town of Somerton, Arizona. My parents came to this country as immigrants from Mexico, working in in the fields in pursuit of the American Dream. This drive provided me the backdrop and framework of hard work, perseverance, and "ganas" (will power) to make things happen for myself and our community.
My professional experience has revolved around the intersection of community and government, working for both the Maricopa County Recorder Office and the United States Census Bureau. I also spent time as the National Field Director of Mi Familia Vota and One Arizona where I promoted citizenship and civic participation in Arizona and across the country. In addition I had the opportunity to work as the KidsCare Outreach Coordinator for the Arizona Healthcare Cost Containment System and as a prevention specialist at an East Valley elementary school for Chicanos Por la Causa.
Before moving to Mesa I was a resident of Chandler, where I served as a commissioner for the Chandler Housing and Human Services Commission. I also served on the State of Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners, which I was appointed to by the Governor of Arizona. In addition, I have volunteered as a Big Brother for the Big Brother/Big Sister organization along with many local advisory boards.
I am a proud Sun Devil graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's of Public Administration from Arizona State University. Currently I own two small businesses located in West Mesa, a consulting firm, assisting clients with grant writing, planning and strategy and a Commercial Printing Shop. I am married to Carmen and have three beautiful children who have fallen in love with all things Mesa!

I hope I gain your support and thank you!
